Gangstagrass: Best of The Bluegrass Kickoff Party at Natasha’s Bistro

BoB is a week-long, multi-venue convergence of musicians, enthusiasts, and communities celebrating Bluegrass music and culture, culminating in the annual Festival of the Bluegrass. Natasha’s Bistro & Bar is hosting a free, all-ages concert with Gangstagrass as a Kickoff Party for the week of Bluegrass music.

Gangstagrass is a fan favorite from Brooklyn, mixing bluegrass and rap styles, forging an entirely new and modern genre of utterly American music. Many people already know their song “Long Hard Times To Come” as the theme song to the FX hit TV show “Justified” which was nominated in 2010 for an Emmy as the Best Theme Song. Described by the Wall Street Journal as “a mixture of bluegrass and hiphop that might repel some purists on either side of the country and rap divide, but will knock the socks off just about everybody else,” Gangstagrass is a cutting edge fusion of traditional and modern styles.
