Pioneer Playhouse presents “One Slight Hitch”

The 66th summer season of Kentucky’s oldest outdoor theatre, Danville’s Pioneer Playhouse, opens on with One Slight Hitch, a hilarious contemporary comedy written by Lewis Black, a regular on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The play focuses on Courtney and her frazzled family’s efforts to host the perfect wedding despite a few goofy glitches, including the sudden appearance of Courtney’s kooky ex-boyfriend. Rated PG.

One Slight Hitch will run Tues. – Sun., June 5-20. Show is at 8:30; Dinner & show at 7:30. Performances move indoors in case of inclement weather.

What ensues is an increasingly unlikely string of misunderstandings and mistaken identities as the twins unintentionally wreak havoc on each other’s lives.

The Lex: 42nd Street at the Lexington Opera House

The Lex will present this toe-tapping extravaganza with original Broadway Revival Choreography by Randy Skinner, re-created and adapted by Mary Giattino.  Skinner received a Tony nomination for this work in 2001.  Rarely done in regional theatre, The Lexington Theatre Company will present this unique version of the show, which features additional dances and new songs, including “I Only Have Eyes For You.”
