Holler 75 featuring Ada Limon, Tony Brewer, R.E.A.L tha Poet at Al’s Bar

This month’s show features the debut of Ada Limón, author of Sharks in the Rivers and Bloomington’s Tony Brewer, author of Hot Type Cold Read. Lexington MC, Real Tha Poet, co-founder of Urban Creek Records, brings his unique flow to the mix. Open mic kicks it off at 8p and wraps it up, with signups beginning at 645p.

Moon Festival Celebration 2014 at Moondance Ampitheatre

“The Prisoner’s Wife”: A Conversation with Asha Bandele and Patrice Muhammad

The Sonia Sanchez Series, honoring the indelible spirit of the poet and her many visits to the neighborhoods of Lexington, brings Asha Bandele, a major thinker whose writing impacts Black culture and social justice issues. Wild Women of Poetry Slam at the Carrick Theatre
