In the Sierras in 1850s, small communities of miners sprang up to mine and panhandle for gold. Hoke, Old Jake, Georgia, Moscow and Boston are such men – just trying to survive, enjoy life with a little bit of money in their pocket, forgetting past hardships, and enjoying the beauty and fresh air of their mountain life. One dark Christmas Eve night, a woman stumbles into their lives and gives birth to a baby boy before she dies. The willing, but unprepared, men now find themselves surrogate parents and the boy grows surrounded by love. A decade later, the boy’s idyllic life is interrupted by a meddling Aunt, who came west in search of her long-dead sister. She intends to take him back East to the big city for a formal education and a life of success. The Christmas Foundling is a heartwarming holiday tale, with the love of a child at its center.
