Worrell’s accolades include his role as a founding member of Parlaiment-Funkadelic and a de facto touring member of the Talking Heads during the 1980s, but he is perhaps just as well known for his long-running solo career as a keyboardist and composer with heavy leanings toward psychedelic and blues-influenced funk. His new band, the Bernie Worrell Orchestra, features eight members, including a three-piece horn section.
